About us

Who we are

Change Narratives is where stories and systems meet. We close the gap between policy and people by documenting Africa’s development journey through lived experiences, innovation, and everyday problem-solving. Our work translates complex reforms into practical stories that communities can understand, engage with, and use.

What We Do
Storytelling & Documentation

Policy Translation

Turning complexity into plain, usable stories that build clarity and trust.

Inclusive Perspectives

Bringing real lives into policy conversations, centering women, youth, and underserved groups.

Cross-Border Learning

Sharing lessons across Africa and the diaspora so ideas travel, scale, and strengthen systems.

What we do

Why It Matters

For too long, Africa’s development has been described at a distance. We bring policy and practice closer—helping people understand decisions, and helping decisions reflect people’s realities.

Our Vision

An Africa where every story shapes a policy and every voice counts in the systems that govern our lives.

Dumebi A. Okwuosah (Creative Lead)

Dumebi Okwuosah is an international development professional with experience across gender equality and GBV, digital transformation (ID systems, connectivity, digital skills), health systems, education, governance & policy reform, and storytelling for impact. Her work sits at the intersection of strategy, Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL), and policy translation—turning lived experiences into evidence and insight that strengthen programs and reforms. She has contributed to initiatives with the World Bank, the Institute of Human Virology Nigeria (IHVN), Synergos, and partners across Africa and the diaspora. Her track record includes supporting digital infrastructure and ID projects, co-designing gender-responsive procurement reforms, strengthening GBV prevention and response systems, building inclusive training and curricula, and leading MEL / Results & Learning (R&L) frameworks that connect outcomes to real community needs. A 2025 Mandela Washington Fellow, Dumebi founded Change Narratives to connect policy with people—so communities can see themselves in the systems that govern their lives and shape those systems in return. She believes stories are not just reflections; they are tools for better choices, accountability, and stronger systems.
